Her Ocean Chants

The original work was created with gouache, acrylic ink, gold leaf on paper

I was awe-struck by the Suao and Nanfanou beaches, with their unbelievable blue oceans and soaring black cliffs. I loved how the shape of the tetrahedron concrete blocks resembled the surrounding rock formations. They looked like a giant's toy blocks stacked up against the seawall. I reimagined these shapes into the hair and crown of a protecting sea goddess.
