Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2018: I wanted to create a costume that moved and was fun to interact with people at the parade. I used a 4’ diameter plastic toy that expands, and was large enough to go over my body. I suspended it with a harness vest and pushed from the inside to expand it.
I marched with my friends and the theme of our group was “Taking the Plunge.” They are bride and groom angler fish, handmade by @badashcostumes.
